Questions this video answers
- What is Stream Agent?
- Stream Agent is a video lead generation platform. Its videos capture leads, and its single Meta use case is sending conversion events to the advertiser's own account through the Conversions API so their campaigns can optimize on real leads. 0:00
- What Meta permissions does Stream Agent use?
- Stream Agent uses Ads Management and Business Management permissions throughout the app. Pages Show List and Pages Read Engagement are only requested because Meta requires them as dependencies of those two permissions, and they have no standalone functionality in Stream Agent. 0:17
- Why does Stream Agent request Pages Show List and Pages Read Engagement permissions?
- These two page permissions are requested solely because Meta requires them as dependencies of Ads Management and Business Management; they have no functionality of their own in Stream Agent. 0:22
- How do you connect a Meta account to Stream Agent?
- You click Connect Meta, which opens the standard Facebook login dialogue. After logging in and granting the requested permissions, this authorizes Stream Agent to access your ad accounts and business assets on your behalf. 0:36
- What is Business Management permission used for in Stream Agent?
- Stream Agent uses Business Management to list the data sets and ad accounts owned by the user's business, so the user can choose exactly where their conversion events should be delivered. Selecting the data set is the only thing Business Management is used for. 1:53
- How does Stream Agent send lead conversion events to Meta?
- When a viewer watches a video and completes the lead form, Stream Agent converts them as a lead, and the conversion event is sent server-to-server to Meta's Conversions API using the access granted during login. Meta then sends a response confirming the event was received. 2:59
- What is Ads Management permission used for in Stream Agent?
- Ads Management is used to send conversion events server-to-server to Meta's Conversions API, writing conversion events to the advertiser's data set using the access granted at login. 3:09

- On the same data set selected during setup, you can go to Meta Events Manager to see the lead and view content events for your session, received via the Conversions API, including the total events received. 3:30
Stream Agent Platform Overview
0:00Hi, this is Stream Agent, a video lead generation platform.
0:06Our videos capture leads and our single meta use case is sending those
0:09conversion events
0:10to the advertisers own account through the conversions API so their campaigns
0:14can optimize on real leads.
0:17Ads management and business management are the permissions in use throughout
0:21this video.
0:22Pages show list and pages read engagement are requested only as meta's required
0:26dependencies of those two and have no standalone functionality in Stream Agent.
Connecting Meta Account and Permissions
0:32I'll now show you the complete login flow and the full end-to-end user experience.
0:36I'm going to start by clicking on Connect meta.
0:39This is the standard Facebook login dialogue.
0:41I'll log in and you'll see the permissions being requested and granted.
0:45Proving this authorizes Stream Agent to access my ad accounts and business
1:04assets on my behalf.
Selecting Data Sets and Pixel Configuration
1:15We're now connected and it's going to ask me to pick the pixel that I want to use.
1:40I'm going to use the Stream Agent pixel here that we have.
1:52Connection is now live.
1:53Stream Agent uses business management to list the data sets and add accounts
1:57owned by my
1:58business so I can choose exactly where my conversion events should be delivered .
2:03I'm selecting my data set here and this is the only thing business management
2:07is used for.
Demonstrating Conversion Event Delivery
2:09Next we're going to go on to the actual use case.
2:11This is going to be one of my published interactive videos, the kind that a
2:14viewer will actually use and reach us from an ad.
2:19I'll watch it, I'll complete the lead form exactly as a prospect would.
2:35We're going to refresh this here.
2:59You can see 10 seconds ago, I was just converted as a lead, pause, pass the
3:08lead gate.
3:09Now in Stream Agent you can see the conversion in the delivery log, the event
3:13was sent server
3:14to server to Meta's conversion API using the access granted in the login you
3:18just watched.
3:19You can see Meta's response confirming the event was received, this is Meta's
3:24ad management in use, writing conversion events to the advertisers data set.
Verifying Events in Meta Events Manager
3:30Next we're going to go over to the advertiser side, Meta Events Manager.
3:33On the same data set I selected earlier, the lead and view content events for
3:38my session are going to be here, receive you the conversions API.
3:57You can see this was what we used earlier.
4:15Now there is a delay as you guys I'm sure are aware of, of 30 minutes to see an
4:19event to actually hit so I did a previous one a little earlier today just so you can
4:24see how it lands in the event manager.
4:28Down here you can see total events received, latest one was an hour ago just
4:32because we had to warm it up.
4:36You can see this was the lead being logged as well.
Summary of Permissions and Workflow
4:43That's a complete end-to-end experience.
4:45Connect once and every conversion from your video flows into your account
4:49automatically.
4:50To summarize, ads management sends the conversion events, business management
4:54lets the user choose
4:55their ad account and data set and the two page permission are requested solely
4:59as required dependencies with no functionality of their own.
5:03Thank you so much.
